for tunnels and rock walls

LA GRAMIGNA for tunnels and rock walls

La Gramigna steel fiber is excellently suited for use in tunnel lining and securing rock walls. Specially designed for large structures, it combines excellent performance with a series of features studied to facilitate its use on the construction site - from the packing in bundled plates to its homogeneous distribution within the cement mixture. It can also be introduced directly into the truck mixer by means of suitable loading and unloading equipment (see SC99/3 product sheet).
For use in sprayed concrete, fibers with a maximum length of 30/40 mm are preferred, in order not to excessively penalize the workability and pumpability of the mix.
For a complete description of its characteristics see the La Gramigna product sheet.

Diameter from 0.50 to 0.80 mm with length between 30 and 40 mm. Tensile strength from 1200 to 1500 MPa.

  • Concrete saving due to thickness constancy
  • Increases concrete resistance to flexural tensile and dynamic loads
  • Makes the structure ductile and resistant to fatigue, impact and crumbling
  • Adheres firmly to the concrete matrix
  • Reduces plastic shrinkage
  • Distributes evenly in the mix
  • Pumps easily
  • Reduces installation and labor costs on site

Application fields

  • Final coatings (prefabricated ashlars for the coating of hydraulic, road, railway and subway tunnels)
  • Slope consolidation
  • Coating of steel pipes
  • Provisional works (repair of dams and bridges, consolidation of rock walls, sprayed concrete in general)

CE Certification

La Gramigna fibers obtained the CE marking and meet UNI EN 14889-1 requirements.
